In 2011, Wellington streets have come alive with people of all descriptions taking to their bicycles, rediscovering the joy and convenience of travelling by bike. The bike buzz has been undeniable and Cycle Aware Wellington has decided its time to recognise some of the people responsible for making this city a great place to ride.
Cycle Aware Wellington is therefore proud to present the inaugural 'Roll on Wellington' awards. Six categories will showcase the wonders of cycling in this great city, including the most cycle friendly shop or cafe, the best and not-so-best of Wellington cycle infrastructure, our favourite improvement of the year, the most courteous road user story and the coolest bike and/or rider seen on Wellington streets.
It's going to be a fantastic evening, not to be missed by all those interested in two-wheeled travel. The awards will be held in the front room of the Library Bar on Courtenay Place (next to Burger King) and will kick off just after 6:00pm. Light refreshments will be provided. All welcome.
