The petition

Over 4,000 people have signed a petition against the Food Bill currently making its way through New Zealand Parliament.

The intention of the Bill is to ensure that the food we buy is safe to eat, and that food manufacturers and sellers conform to food control plans.

However- the definition of 'food sellers' is very wide. It includes bartering, seed exchange and home gardeners selling their excess produce.

We encourage you to sign the petition so that Parliament is aware that amendments are necessary- to ensure these activities are not caught by this Bill.
